As the American rock band KISS celebrate their 50th anniversary, and in the years ahead, this website will be dedicated to a critical in-depth look at the entire history of the band and the brand.
The website is a work in progress. In the menu on top of the site you will find three items: KISS History Features (two article so far, up until the end of 1975), KISS Catalog Reviews (up to and including KISS Alive!, so far), and KISS Band Members (which has also been launched).
Stay tuned as STRANGE WAYS branches out into discussions of KISStory under these three main categories. There are many KISS websites out there, official and unauthorized, but my hope is that this one will add a sense of overview and critical perspective without losing the fun and celebration that KISS is all about.
Who am I, the writer? My name is Christer Andresen, and I am a Norwegian author, teacher and songwriter. I hold a PhD in film studies and teach horror and the fantastic in genre entertainment. I am the author of the acclaimed book Norwegian Nightmares: The Horror Cinema of a Nordic Country on Edinburgh University Press, outlining the history and aesthetics of Norwegian horror.
The other website I write for is Maiden Revelations, all about the British metal band Iron Maiden, and I am the author of the upcoming book Iron Maiden: Song by Song on Fonthill Media. I also record and release music with the hard rock bands Keldian and Madam Curie.
